Kitchen Mood Board
Our kitchen renovation is coming along and we are weeks away from a big reveal. I thought it was the perfect time to share where we are in the reno as well as our design board.
Below is a quick recap of what we have worked on so far:
Week 1: Remove wallpaper
Week 2: Remove upper cabinets and flooring
Week 3: Remove outdated lighting + Update electrical and install new lighting
This week was perhaps one of the most transformative weeks. While the kitchen to-do list is still quite long, we have all new lighting and re-arranged many of the switches and outlets for an improved electrical layout. No more stumbling through a dark kitchen to turn on the kitchen lights! This past week we also ordered all of our new cabinets and appliances, and have begun phase I of the custom hood vent install which should be completed this upcoming week.
Besides the new electrical layout and updated lighting, another big change coming to our kitchen will be with the cabinetry, or lack thereof. In an effort to create a light and open space we have removed all of our upper cabinets and will be working with Cascade Iron Co. on the installation of open shelving using their hand made matte black "J" shelving brackets while replacing our lower cabinets with a dark modern shaker cabinet. New modern downlighting will highlight these new shelves while also creating a feature on our soffit above the workspace.
I couldn't be happier with how it's all coming together and can't wait to share more as we continue to make progress in the space!
