One Room Challenge Week 1: Teen Bedroom Makeover
It’s WEEK ONE of the Spring 2020 One Room Challenge! I am so excited to be sharing our teen bedroom renovation with you all. Our oldest daughter turned 12 this past March and her bedroom doesn’t exactly scream teen girl. It does however scream perfect space for a makeover! We have slowly been working on other areas of this space including some major updates to the half bath and walk-in closet and I am beyond ready to tackle this outdated bedroom.
For those of you unfamiliar with the ORC, it is typically a 6-week design challenge following 20 featured designers and hundreds of guest participants. This year, things are a little different, and the challenge has been extended to 8 weeks so get ready for some HUGE reveals!!! Beginning May 6th, designers share their spaces and design plans for a fast paced make-over revealing their finished spaces on June 25th- 28th.
The space: The room itself is an awkward ‘L’ that creates several design challenges including oh so many doors to work around. Last April I gave the half bath and walk-in closet a complete overhaul including a change to the layout. Adjusting the bathroom and closet layout allowed me to tear out a door and close up the wall to get a few more square feet of usable space.
The newly built wall and rest of the room has been unchanged and incomplete since…. until now.
BEFORE
The floors need some TLC, the drop ceiling paneled tiles have to go and something needs to be done with these pink and taupe paneled walls ASAP but this is just the start.
Follow along each week to see the progress of each of the Featured Designers and Guest Participants!
