Leaving on a Jet Plane

I am leaving my forever travel partner for nearly a week away in sunny Palm Springs. If I said I wasn't nervous I would be lying but the excitement for the adventure ahead is even greater. To be attending this year's Altitude Summit is quite the opportunity and I look forward to all it has to offer.
It is so easy to stress about what to pack, and when you are heading to a conference that hosts some of the most talented entrepreneurs and creatives in the country, you want to impress. I asked around and the best advice I got was to just be myself and dress how I will be most comfortable. It is so simple and true.
I checked the forecast again and again to be sure I packed the essentials. Coming from the east coast at the end of February I am excited to ditch the heavy winter coat and snow boots for some spring like apparel. My goal was to not over pack so I stuck to a nice pair of denim and a pair of black pants for dinners. I kept all of the blouses light and airy for the potential mid-day heat the desert can bring and packed a light coat for the early hours and late nights. For accessories I kept it equally as simple. A black wool hat and necklaces from Made by Mary are the perfect pieces to top off each outfit.
Deciding which shoes to pack was a little more tricky. I wanted casual and comfortable, expecting that I will be on my feet quite a bit during the week, but needed to be able to dress them up a bit in the evening. My Free People Royale flats and a pair of Vans tennis shoes will do just that.
I have never owned my own luggage and figured this trip was the perfect opportunity to splurge a little on a new carry-on and this AWAY luggage has not disappointed thus far. The smooth casters and lightweight design have made it easy for the weekend traveling I have done and I have no doubt it will be just as amazing while I travel by air.
